HANDMADE IN VRINDAVAN, NORTH INDIA
In the summer of 2025 at Yoga Mela Festival in Sweden, Elise had the joy of playing another musician’s harmonium and instantly fell in love with its warmth, responsiveness, and tone. Tracing the instrument back led us to its source: Raga Harmoniums, created and developed by Sridhar Das, an Italian kirtan musician who has made his home in Vrindavan, North India. There, he works closely with traditional harmonium makers, refining the design, structure, and tuning to create instruments that are both beautifully resonant and reliable to play.
Each harmonium is handmade in Vrindavan and personally selected, set up, and tuned by Sridhar before it is sent to us here in the UK. We are honoured to serve as the sole UK distributor, offering the opportunity to try harmoniums in person (when we are at home in Devon) or to receive personalised guidance via video call.
In 2026, we will be travelling to India to spend time with Sridhar and the makers to learn harmonium tuning and repair, so that we can continue to support you and your instrument with care here in the UK for many years to come.
We are excited to share these instruments with our UK community — harmoniums, shruti boxes, tabla, and bansuri flutes — because they are instruments we use ourselves and confidently recommend to our students. Each one has been carefully selected for its beautiful tone, responsiveness, and ease of play, making them perfect companions for devotional singing, kirtan, bhajan, Indian classical music, or any personal sound practice.
