Join Elise & Charlie for a full day of kirtan (group devotional singing), community picnic, and tranquil moments at this enchanting woodland venue in South Devon.
SATURDAY 11 MAY ~ 11AM - 5PM
We are thrilled to have discovered this enchanting new venue in South Devon, where our nature-loving souls can immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty of the bluebells, a quintessential symbol of spring that adds an extra layer of charm to our day event at Deer Wood in May.
“Kirtan is a spiritual practice that originated in India centuries ago. The word kirtan means singing, chanting, and praising the Divine. It’s a sacred practice anyone can do; no special training is required. The music does the work for you, carrying you to a state of tremendous joy and clarity.”
- Kirtan; Chanting as a Spiritual Path
The practice of mantra and kirtan is based on the idea that the mind is like a river, and that by repeating a mantra, one can help to still the mind and bring it back to its source. This can lead to a deeper sense of inner peace, clarity, and connection to the divine. The repetition of mantras and kirtan can also help to purify the mind and body, and can bring about a sense of spiritual awakening and transformation.
We are inviting everyone to contribute to a plant-based (organic if possible) picnic lunch to share as a group. Teas and cake will be provided.
Along with your contribution to our shared picnic, please bring a plate, cutlery and a mug for tea.
Please bring a yoga mat to sit on, plus a cushion and blanket.
There are some chairs and benches at the venue for anyone who is not comfortable sitting on the ground.
